How New Jerseyans Treat Siri And Other Virtual Assistants
How many times a day do you lean on Siri for support?
Are you constantly asking Siri questions or asking for help? I know I am!
"Hey Siri, get directions to the nearest Wawa."
"Hey Siri, what's the weather forecast for this upcoming weekend?"
"Hey Siri, set an alarm for 6:30 am tomorrow."
"Hey Siri, call mom."
My favorite is, "Hey Siri, where's my phone?" I'm constantly asking that question!
Here in New Jersey, we start very nice and respectful when it comes to communicating with Siri or any other virtual assistants such as Alexa and Google Assistant, but we quickly turn impatient and become very frustrated.
Our first question is asked in a conversational tone and we even patiently wait for the response. However, if our question is not answered the first time...we're not happy!

I'm guilty of it too! There have been times I find myself yelling at Siri because of the slow response or lack of response at all.
"Sorry, I didn't get that."
What? How did you NOT get that?!!
It turns out a lot of New Jerseyans respond the same way. I recently read a report that talked about how more than half of all New Jerseyans occasionally yell at virtual assistants.
The study was conducted by a gaming website that showed nationwide that women are more prone to getting upset at their virtual assistants compared to men. Around 62% of women and 53% of men acknowledged this behavior.
So you're not alone if you're one of those people who get upset!
