Stolen Dog Missing For Five Years Happily Reunited With Family In New Jersey
I’m not crying, you’re crying!
Back in 2017, Bandit, a sweet Shih Tzu was stolen from his home. If you are doing the math, that was over 5 years ago. Eventually, he ended up in an animal shelter in Newark and he was in rough shape. Here is the before and after...
After a bath, some medical care and good old fashioned T.L.C...
When he got to the Associated Humane Popcorn Park Shelter Bandit was frail, matted, and had terrible eye issues. He had obviously been through hell and back. After nursing him back to health workers noticed that he actually had a microchip!
Bandit’s family reported him missing to no avail until now. On that faithful day when Bandit got scanned, his pet parents were given the amazing news that he had been found.
The owners were tearfully over the moon and they raced down to get their long-lost friend.
Obviously, the micro-chip changed everything and is the reason for the happy ending. I hope they spoil that poor baby (I'm sure they will)!
If you don’t have your pet microchipped, you can go to The Associated Humane Societies Newark Animal Shelter for their “Newark Pet Wellness Day” on Saturday, March 26th from 9-4 pm. You can get a free microchip for your pooch! You can also call your local Humane Society to see if there is a microchip service offered near you.
I'm so curious if Bandit recognized his family when he saw them and hear their voices right away or if it took some time. I'm going to try to get in touch with the family and see if they will join us on the Jersey Shore Morning Show. What a happy ending! You can read more about the original story here.
