Here's the situation, it's bad.  COVID-19 positives are surging throughout our state.  As I write this, over 3,000 are sick enough to be in the hospital and over 600 in critical or intensive care.  Luckily, vaccinations are soaring too.  As of this afternoon, over 300,000 vaccinations for COVID-19 have been administered in New Jersey and over 12,000,000 across the United States.

Companies are looking for ways to improve their business during a pandemic.  One way, keep your employees and customers safe by incentivizing your workers get the vaccine.  Here are the 3 that are operating at the Jersey Shore that we're aware of.

Trader Joe's, with locations in Brick, Freehold, and Shrewsbury, says they will move schedules around to provide employees with the opportunity to get the vaccine.  Additionally, they'll pay their employees 2-hours for it.

Dollar General, with over 2 dozen locations here, will pay employees 4-hours of regular pay for getting vaccinated.

"Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the health and safety of our employees, customers and local communities have remained our top priority. We have implemented several proactive and preventative measures throughout our organization and are proud to have remained open to serve our neighbors as one of America’s essential retailers." Instacart, an American company that delivers groceries to consumers that they purchased on an app, is offering employees a $25 stipend.

If you're aware of any others offering incentives, like pay, hours, or stipends, please e-mail me and let me know.

PS - The CDC advisory panel recommends frontline workers (like grocery employees) should be the next group to receive the vaccine, after healthcare workers and nursing home residents.
