The mom of a Toms River 2-year old girl comes to her rescue after the child nearly drowned in their swimming pool on Thursday around 11:56 am.

Mom had performed CPR on her little girl before officers arrived at the Maine Street home for a report of an infant submerged in a pool and not breathing.

As officers entered the rear yard, the child’s mother was holding her daughter who appeared pale and lethargic after her mother had performed CPR and the child regained consciousness.

Officer John Mehl took the child and inverted her and induced 2 additional vomiting episodes of water.

Silverton EMS arrived and assumed care for her.

Mom and her daughter were transported to Community Medical Center for evaluation.
