A Toms River man once found with a massive amount of drugs in his vehicle has now been found guilty of trying to deal those narcotics.

Lakewood Police watched as John Williams, 56, and another individual squatted between two cars for about 30 seconds on November 10, 2020, in a parking lot between 2nd and 3rd streets.

The unnamed individual walked away and so did Williams who wreaked of raw marijuana at the time which drew the attention of Lakewood Police.

When officers then searched Williams, based on the odor of marijuana, they found 164 wax folds of a compound of heroin, fentanyl, and 4-ANPP, approximately 17 grams of cocaine, a quantity of Marijuana, a digital scale, plastic baggies, and around $1,250 in cash.

He was then arrested and brought to the Ocean County Jail where he has been since that day.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced Monday that Williams was found guilty following a jury trial of Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of a Compound of Heroin, Fentanyl, and 4-ANPP.

Williams’ sentencing has been set for May 13, 2022.

Prosecutor Billhimer also announced that Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Victoria Veni tried the case on behalf of the State.
