How To Secure Your Christmas Tree Safely On New Jersey Roads This Holiday Season
Have you picked out your Christmas tree yet? If you've spent any time driving on New Jersey roads lately, you've probably noticed plenty of cars with family Christmas trees strapped to their roofs

We throw it in the pack of our pickup truck and take it home to decorate.

This year, AAA is reminding drivers to take extra care when securing and transporting their tree to ensure a stress-free ride home, according to a recent news report.
Last year, I even saw a Christmas tree on the shoulder of the highway. Clearly, it hadn't been tied down properly! You have to be careful so it doesn't end up flying off.
AAA is out with some recommendations to help you transport your Christmas tree home safely.
The Best Ways To Secure Your Christmas Tree On The Road
- Wrap the tree in netting to reduce wind resistance.
- Use a blanket to prevent scratches and damage to the roof.
- Load the tree with the trunk facing forward.
- Tie the tree at multiple points (top, middle, and bottom) with sturdy rope or straps.
- Tug on the tree to make sure it is secure before you drive.
You just want to be extra careful, so your tree ends up in your living room and not on the side of the Garden State Parkway!
