The Monmouth County DWI Task Force will be conducting two stops this weekend.

The first will be in Brielle Friday from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. Saturday. Prepare to stop at the municipal complex on Route 71. Drivers will randomly be diverted southbound and into the complex's parking lot for sobriety checks.

The second checkpoint will be in Keansburg from 10:30 p.m. Saturday until 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Task force members will be on Route 36 directing vehicles westbound into the Family Dollar parking lot.

Remember that even if you are sober and get pulled over during one of these checkpoint stops, you may still be summoned for other motor vehicle violations.

Also, officers DO NOT need probable cause to stop you if there is a DWI checkpoint set up. An easy way to avoid tickets or worse is to not drink and drive and cooperate if pulled over.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office heads up the DWI task force with the help of the Monmouth County Chiefs of Police Association.
