Unoccupied Friday home fire remains under investigation in Manchester, NJ
The fire is out but the investigation is in the Genesis stages after flames emanated from a home in the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester Township on Friday afternoon.
Police said that they received a call around 4:13 pm about an active structure fire at 1001 Twelfth Avenue and officers immediately spotted the smoke and flames coming out of the attic area once on scene.
There was nobody inside the home at the time of the fire but due to its close proximity to neighboring homes, those were evacuated for safety reasons.
Manchester Township firefighters along with those from the Manchester Volunteer Fire Department, Ridgeway Fire Department, Whiting Fire Department, Toms River Township District #1, Toms River Township District #2, Pleasant Plains, State Forest Fire Service, and Lakehurst Fire Department were able to team up and quickly put out the residential fire.
Police said that there were no injuries were reported from the fire on Friday afternoon.
Manchester Police Detectives and the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office are looking into the cause and origin of the residential fire in Pine Lake Park.
