Remember....safety first.

And Brick police clearly agree because they are hosting a free water safety class this Saturday (6/22)!

The class will include swimming lessons and water safety, CPR and first aid.

The class is being held at the pool at Tilton Fitness which is located at 1686 Route 88 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The class can have a maximum of 50 participants and registration is first come, first serve. Register HERE.

This free safety offering comes as a result of a sophomore in high school who recently drowned in the lagoon so this class is being used as a preemptive safety precaution since people are near and in water all summer long.

This honestly is not all that surprising. It wasn't too long ago that there was talk of a bill passing that would make it mandatory for schools to teach water safety lessons.

It looks like this added safety measure is a much needed program so let's hope that the bill passes soon.
