Wendy’s Dethrones Burger King

Watch out McDonalds! Wendy's has now surpassed Burger King to become the number-two hamburger chan in the US for the first time since its debut in 1969.

McDonald's remains number-one with sales of $34.2 billion in 2011, but a new report on the food industry that's set to be released on April 13th shows Wendy's took in $8.5 billion last year, topping Burger King's $8.4 billion. (USA Today)

Worldwide, however, Burger King has more locations than Wendy's and continues to be number-two behind McDonald's.
