Check out the events and activities this weekend at the Jersey Shore…

Friday night is Free Movie Night at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank.  The feature film is “Karate Kid.”  Tickets are free, but you must obtain them from the Count Basie box office, countbasietheatre.org.

Saturday

Calling all mermaids, sea creatures and land dwelling friends to dress up in their finest attire and walk the boards in Asbury Park at the 3rd Annual Promenade of Mermaids on the boardwalk in Asbury Park.  Face painters will be on hand for a little extra something, along with art and craft vendors, a costume contest, and more.  Registration begins at noon and the Promenade begins at 2 PM.

Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Festival is taking place on the Great Lawn at Cooper Avenue on the Promenade in Long Branch with activities for the kids, live music, food and craft vendors, and Fireworks at the end of the evening… 1 pm to 9:30 PM

Need a furry friend… Jersey Shore Roller Girls host their last home game of the season with an Animal Adoption Event benefitting S.A.V.E Rescue Shelter, accepting pet supply donations and adoption applications at Winding River Skating Center.  Doors open at 5:30, the first whistle is at 6:30 PM.

The first ever Leonardo State Marina Flea Market at 102 Concord Avenue in Leonardo from 9 AM to 1 PM.

Sunday         

Did someone say Cannoli??  Sunday from 1 to 4 PM at Coney Waffle at Pier Village in Long Branch will be hosting the 2nd Annual Cannoli Waffle eating contest.

The Baronet at the Asbury Hotel will be showing Point Break with live soundtrack by Great White Clips starting at sundown.
