When the news broke last month that Asbury Park's infamous Zombie Walk would be no-more, lots of fearless Zombie-lovers were understandably disappointed.

It seems though, that the Zombie Walk may be oh-so-appropriately coming back from the dead!

The Asbury Park Sun reports that the owner of Johnny Mac's, John McGillion, announced that he's in the process of buying the rights to the Zombie Walk, for an undisclosed amount of money.

The sale would include a partnership with the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce, and keep event organizer Jason Meehan on board.

There was a "funeral event" tentatively scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd, which lends itself especially well to a Zombie uprising. That said, there is no official confirmation yet on the Asbury Park Zombie Walk website or social media that the Zombie Walk is officially back on.

McGillion has put in an application for a special events permit for the walk, which will likely be up for approval by the City Council at its September 23rd meeting.

Seems to me that your best bet is to get your Zombie gear (or in my case, scaredy cat running shoes) ready...you never really know when the Zombie Apocalypse is coming, do you?
