This is one of those times when you have to stop scrunching your nose at the idea and just TRY it. Trust me!

Mogo Korean Fusion Tacos in Asbury Park are a mix of two wonderful cuisines, executed in a fabulous way.

Even better, there are TWO places to get them! You can stop into the year-round space on Cookman Ave., or step up to the seasonal food stand on the AP boardwalk!

Co-owner Sam Chung explains that the basic premise of Mogo is taking the flavors and recipes of Korean BBQ, putting it in taco or burrito form, and topping it with different slaws to tie to them together.

And they are GOOD.

You definitely need to try the pork or chicken taco, the fried chicken wings with soy-ginger glaze, and the kimchi fried rice!

I love stopping at the food stand when I'm on the beach is Asbury. It's an easy (and cheap!) lunch or snack, and the flavors really are awesome. (Protip: The location on Cookman is a stellar place for late-night food after a night out. They stay open til 3 a.m. on weekends.)

There are lots of options and ways to customize your meal, whether you're looking for a burger, a vegetarian meal, or even a low/no-carb bowl or salad.

Mogo is located at 632 Cookman Ave. in Asbury Park, and also on the Asbury Park boardwalk near 1st Ave. Open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Call (732) 361-3684 for more info.
