So we finally have an answer about what our kids' school year will look like in the fall. It turns out that students in New Jersey schools will not be required to wear masks inside. Of course the individual district can still mandate mask-wearing for the 2021-22 academic year so check with your school to see what their policy is. So how does this make you feel? Are you relieved? Does this make you want to continue home school? As a mom, I do have one concern after this announcement though...
For me, staying active is very important. Not only does working out help me mentally, but I like eating... a lot. If I don't stay active I blow up like a tick. I witnessed it first hand in college...my "Freshman 15" was actually a "Freshman 25". Also, don't even get me started about my sweet tooth. My sweet tooth is so bad that I sometimes itch for a box of Entenmann's chocolate chip cookies. I simply lose control of myself in front of sweets. There's no other way to put it, I have a love-hate relationship with my kitchen. So yes...as you can tell... I pretty much need to work out and stay active on a daily basis haha!
Most of us here in New Jersey were breathing easier after Governor Phil Murphy lifted the mask mandates (for those of us that are fully vaccinated). However, private businesses have the right to require masks if they see fit, which has a lot of people confused and child stars like Ricky Schroder very upset. So it might be helpful to see a list in advance of at least 15 major chains that are still requiring you to mask up.
So as it turns out New Jersey peeps are some of the most unrested individuals in America. New York beats us, but they actually call themselves the city that never sleeps so I would expect nothing less. I dug in to see what we can do besides the obvious "get to bed earlier, don't use your phone within an hour of wanting to fall asleep" tips.
Usually, I am writing about french fries, pork roll sandwiches, ice cream, and pretty much everything else that is not healthy. So for this article, I am throwing you a curveball and I am writing about raspberries. It's beach season, I can't have you looking and feeling like garbage... LET'S EAT SOME FRUIT!
Can you be bribed? I can. I learned that about myself when I was 6. I was afraid to get a shot and my mom said that she would take me for an ice cream if I was a big girl. Suddenly, I was a trooper and to this day I still don't have polio.

At my first live broadcast from the legendary Asbury Park boradwalk, I had the privilege of meeting local ocean expert Don Walsh. Talk about an impressive person...Don has made it his life's mission to teach others about ocean safety, to prepare Olympic swimmers and even prepare Navy SEAL candidates for rigorous water missions. So when I had questions about my kids and rip currents, I'm pretty sure I asked that right guy.
