Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial kick-off to the summer season, and Jersey Shore residents got a dose of fun. to start theirs!

The band performed the first show in the 2013 'TODAY Show' Summer Concert Series on the famed boardwalk in Seaside Heights, which garnered national attention in the fall when Superstorm Sandy heavily damaged much of the summertime attraction.

The Grammmy-award winning band performed their hit songs 'We Are Young,' 'Carry On' and 'Some Nights' to a slew of fans who gathered at the beachside community on a less-than summery day. Did the overcast weather stop the crowd from having a blast? Of course not! How could you watch fun. with anything less than a giant grin across your face? That's what we thought...

However, the concert held much more meaning to those who live on the Jersey Shore as many of the towns on the seaside were absolutely devastated by Superstorm Sandy. New Jersey governor Chris Christie was on hand to open the summer season saying, "Anybody who lives in New Jersey, the Jersey shore is in your heart. This means everything to our state." We're glad the guys of fun. could help Jersey Shore residents 'Carry On' and bring some levity to what has been an extremely hard fall and winter.
