Get Your Mammogram at Crucial Catch Day in Asbury

Grab your girlfriends, moms, daughters, nieces, aunts, or co-workers and come out for an afternoon of fun and mammograms!

If you have to get a mammogram, might as well make it a fun day out!

You're invited to attend a special event to celebrate health and learn more about how you can help reduce your risk for breast cancer or find it early.

At A Crucial Catch Day, you'll not only get your mammogram, but there will be food trucks, a DJ and photo booth, giveaways, breast cancer education, and transportation by trolley, too!

The event takes place rain or shine, under a big tent at 1301 Main street in Asbury Park (in front of the VNACJ Community Health Center), 10 am - 3 pm, on Tuesday, Oct. 25th.

This is the second year that the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey (VNACJ) Community Health Center in Asbury Park is joining the National Football League (NFL) and the American Cancer Society to host the NFL's A Crucial Catch Day.

This important event, among only 32 around the country, seeks to boost women's access to breast cancer education and screenings by offering free cancer screenings, education and other resources.

The VNACJ Community Health Center was named a Community Health Advocate by the American Heart Society and received a National Grant for Empowerment to increase breast cancer screening rates within the Jersey Shore area.

The goal of Crucial Catch and the national grants are to partner with health service organizations to implement strategies that address the unequal burden of breast cancer within underserved communities across the country.

The 12-month project begins with A Crucial Catch Day -- Screening Saves Lives on Tuesday with the free education and screening opportunities for women and family-friendly activities for participants of all ages.

This event is open to all women in our area -- no requirements. Look for the giant white tent, two small blue tents, two food trucks, and music. The trolley service is from the event tents to the mammogram place and then back!

If you have a health insurance card, bring it. If not, VNACJ will work out a way for you to get a mammogram without you being responsible for paying for it. If you are not currently a patient of VNACJ, you can sign up that day.
