A Hazlet teen was killed yesterday after stepping in front of an oncoming train around 5:30 a.m. near the Beers Street crossing in Hazlet, according to NJ Transit Officials. The victim is identified as 17-year old Nicholas Kansky.

Authorities continue searching for a robber wanted for allegedly stabbing an employee of the K&D Gulf gas station on Burnt Tavern Road in Brick around 1:30 yesterday afternoon. The victim reportedly underwent surgery but is expected to be okay. The suspect is described as a clean-shaven white man with a thin build, standing about 5'10", wearing a green shirt, blue shorts, a baseball hat and sun glasses. He escaped on foot.

An Aberdeen man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he shut a live cat inside a plastic container and threw it in a dumpster. 55-year old John Cokefair was arrested after witnesses turned him in to police. The cat is believed to belong to Cokefair's girlfriend. It's reportedly healthy and being cared for by the SPCA.
