New Jersey’s Population Density Is The Worst In The Country

No state in the nation is more densely populated than we are here in New Jersey, and that isn't a shock to those of us who live here.

All you have to do is travel from Point A to Point B here in the Garden State to realize that we live in a very densely populated state.

New Jersey Is Packed With Residents

Every road we travel on could use an extra lane or two, every parking lot could be a little bigger, and every strip mall could use one less store.

We try to fit a lot of New Jersey into a very small state, and the evidence is getting more clear that we are quite literally living on top of each other in New Jersey.

This state is home to almost 9.3 million people, and in case you hadn't noticed, we're not one of the geographically largest states in the nation.

It turns out that, according to Wise Voter,  we have 1300 residents per square mile living here in the Garden State, and that makes us the most densely populated state in the nation by far.

Is Anyone Almost As Crowded As New Jersey?

Another small state, Rhode Island, is the second most densely populated state in America, but it's not that close.

They have 200 fewer residents per square mile than we do. And the #3 state, has almost 400 people per square mile less than we do.

New Jersey has 1.3K people per square mile. The state with the lowest population density is Alaska, where they have 1.3 people per square mile. Think about that for a minute.
