Help The FoodBank

Liz and I are getting ready to do our Wednesday show live this week from the Atlantic Club in Manasquan to help the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

Everyone is always so generous as we collect, turkeys, non-perishables and donations to help neighbors in need this Thanksgiving and beyond, and we thank you in advance for your generosity.

Here are some numbers that are pretty staggering when it come s to families in need right here in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. According to the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties website, they, along with the network of over 300 charitable programs they deliver to, have provided over 10 million meals to people in need.

Here are some more sobering facts provided by the FoodBank. Of all households receiving emergency food in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, almost half (45%) of households with children experienced hunger during the course of the year.

Also, one in every 10 people in Monmouth and Ocean Counties receive “emergency” food from the FoodBank’s network of pantries, soup kitchens and other agencies.
