Many towns on the Jersey Shore have already answered the question of whether or not to ban smoking on their beaches and boardwalks.

As the state tries to determine whether smoking should be banned on all public beaches, towns like Belmar, Long Branch, Spring Lake, Seaside Heights and Ocean Grove have already banned it, and Belmar, Seaside Heights and Spring Lake are among shore towns with a ban on boardwalk smoking as well, according to miamiherald.com.

According to the article, the state legislature thought of going with a complete ban, but decided to include a provision allowing towns to leave 15% of beach area for smoking. The Governor is now in the process of deciding whether to sign that bill.

If it became law, it wouldn't take effect for 180 days, obviously meaning that it would not take effect for this season. So, what do you think? Should all Jersey Shore beaches and boardwalks be 100% smoke free?
