So What Happened To Mary Lee The Shark?

Shark week has come and gone, and we haven't gotten a single ping from the locally famous shark Mary Lee.

So where could Mary Lee be? The last time she made an appearance was over a year ago, June 17, 2017 to be exact, according to sjntoday.com, so what is the reason for her long absence?

Has something happened to Mary Lee? Well, according to experts, one of the more likely scenarios is that the battery on Mary Lee's tracking device has died and that we aren't receiving pings because the device isn't working.

Mary Lee has made incredible journeys to Florida and even Bermuda in addition to her frequent appearances over the years here near the Jersey Shore. and she is one of very few great white sharks with her own Facebook page.

The conversation about Mary Lee came up this past Friday at the New Jersey Natural Gas Asbury Park Boardwalk Studio, and since everybody was talking sharks last week during shark week, I thought we'd fill you in.

So, although nobody knows for sure what's up with Mary Lee, hopefully she is swimming around enjoying the summer somewhere in the ocean while we are all home wishing we could replace that battery so we could keep up with her amazing journeys.
