Even a Mets fan can appreciate the amazing career of Mariano Rivera and plenty of Mets, Yankees and baseball fans in general showed him their appreciation at the All Star game.

We often think of professional athletes as the epitome of strength and toughness. Until you watch this video and then think of them as the total opposite.

Derek Jeter has spent an entire career staying away from controversy and being a model employee for the New York Yankees, and now one "analyst" hints  that he wouldn't absolutely deny the possibility that Jeter might be taking performance enhancing drugs and the headlines begin.

For years now, our area has clearly been a "Yankees Town". As a Mets fan, no one knows that better than I do, and with the successes of the Yankees, and the failures of the Mets, it's no real surprise. This weekend though, a Yankees fan friend of mine said he thought the tables were turning.

The rudeness of some people is amazing, but this act of selfishness takes the cake. With New York fans always being poorly labeled, I'm glad it was made clear by YES announcer Michael Kay that this was clearly a mean act by one Texas fan to another Texas fan who couldn't have been more than 5 years old. Opening Day at CitiField resuted in a 1-0 Mets win over the Atlanta Braves. The Mets are in first place! I say that now because this will likely be the only time I'll be able to say it all season long. For all you Yankees and Phillies fans out there, let me have my day. You guys will have all season to be in or close to first place. I have today.
