Treating A Flaky Scalp With Color-Treated Hair [SALON KOKOPELLI’S BEAUTY SECRET][AUDIO]
Today's question comes from yours truly, in the hopes that sharing my embarrassing condition will bring us all some answers!
Luckily Salon Kokopelli co-owner Mary Ball has an answer!
I have highlighted (color-treated) hair and I get flakes. I don't know if it's dandruff, a dry scalp, or what. What I do know is that it's embarrassing, but traditional dandruff shampoos are a nightmare on color-treated hair.
They always fade the color and leave it dry and lifeless.
Mary's solution? It's simple. Use a shampoo made by a color-friendly company like Redken. She says they are formulated differently to maintain color and fight flakes.
