Got a wine stain you can't remove? Use your Keurig often? There are things you might have been cleaning wrong all this time!

From toilets to towels....think you know how to clean your stuff properly? Here's what the experts say.

-- Toilets: When's the last time you cleaned behind the BACK of your toilet? Yep...there is yucky stuff back there so gross I won't even name the technical terms for it.

-- Towels: FABRIC SOFTENER IS A NO NO! The liquid softeners and especially the sheets put a coating on fabrics which CANNOT be removed! This makes your towels LESS ABSORBENT!

-- Pet Hair: Wet a pair of rubber gloves and run them over the furniture to make sure you get everything that the vacuum, tape and lint rollers DIDN'T get.

-- Red wine stains: Some say using white wine will get out red wine stains but that isn't the best option. Sprinkle SALT on freshly-spilled wine before blotting it up, and use oxi products for old red wine stains that have already dried.

-- Coffeemakers: Just cleaning with hot water isn't enough. Experts say the carafe, lid and filter basket should be cleaned DAILY with warm, sudsy water! And that includes Keurigs. (Who the HECK has time for that?!). The experts ALSO recommend running white vinegar through the machine every few months as well.

-- Knives: Do you just put them in the dishwasher? If they are of good quality and you want to keep them that way, you need to wash them by hand. The dishwasher will DULL them. Hand wash with warm water and soap.

-- Garbage disposals: It's important to clean this once a week...especially if you want to avoid accumulating bad smells. Experts say instead of using a store-bought sink cleaner, use homemade white vinegar ice cubes! Or, throw citrus rinds and cold water into the garbage disposal, which works just as well.

-- Sheets: You spend a lot of time lying in them. If you think washing your sheets once a week is acceptable, one expert says that's not nearly enough, especially if you eat or snack in bed. Instead, you should wash your sheets at least every THREE DAYS!
