2nd Annual All Recovery Color Fest Returns to Bayville this Fall
BAYVILLE – The Mental Health Association of New Jersey will be hosting their second annual All Recovery Color Fest in October.
The All Recovery Color Fest is a day filled with fun for the entire family all while providing information on local mental health services, "we are truly going to be making this a community event to spread awareness," MHA director Rachael O'Dea said.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 19th rain or shine and will run from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at Veterans Park in Bayville. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children.
Last year the event drew a little over 200 people and this year organizers are trying to get that number way up saying it's going to be bigger and better than last year, "This color fest is all about wellness and recovery in general for Ocean County," O'Dea told WOBM News.
The event will also include numerous events like raffles, 2k Color Run/Walk, Community Resources, and more.
Recovery Specialist Michelle Price says that it is an all-inclusive community event because every family can relate to mental health challenges or addiction challenges, "practicing overall wellness is important," Price said.
Ocean Mental Health, Preferred Behavior Health, Recalibrate, and many other providers will be attending this year's event, "last year we had a lot of providers – I want to say that we had over 15 – maybe 20 community providers that were there," Price added.
Children have a lot of fun at this event, but learn too, "I think integrating the kids with the activities – promotes not only good physical health – but good mental health as well," O'Dea said, "and parents were able to grab the resources and support that they needed at the same time".
Price says that mental health is something that everyone can relate too, "we just want to promote mental wellness – and how to be mentally well, and work on your overall well being."
