1871 Asbury Park was founded by James A. Bradley and named after Francis Asbury, who was the first bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the U.S.A.

1880 Tilly arrives along with George C. Tilyou and his Steeplechase amusements right on Ocean Ave.

1888 The famous Palace Merry Go Round was installed at Lake and Kingsley.

1929 The current Convention Hall and Casino building appeared.

2007 The amazing new chapter in Asbury Park's history began.
