Robert Murphy is now a sophomore at Freehold Township High School and is the largest contributor to the Monmouth County SPCA under the age of 18! You can join him at the "Run for the Animals 3K and Doggie Dash" on Saturday, June 16th, at Monmouth Battlefield in Freehold.

Robert started the race when he was only 12!  He says that after he saw commercials on tv (for national animal welfare organizations) he wanted to help all of the abused and neglected animals by doing something big. So he decided to combine this with his passion for running.

While most teens spend their free time playing video games or hanging out with their friends, Robert and his sisters Jamie and Samantha have put together the Run for the Animals and have raised thousands of dollars in support for the Monmouth County SPCA.

Registration is currently underway. The doggie Dash starts at 10 am and all dogs must be registered for the doggie dash, on a leash, and accompanied by their owner at all times. Dogs can also run in the 3k for free with their owners when that race starts at 10:15 am.
