A Winter Hike At Beautiful Wells Mills County Park in Waretown, New Jersey
Just what the doctor ordered, well not officially but we self prescribed a nice day out in the fresh air and sunshine for a Sunday hike in beautiful Ocean County. It probably is good to get out for exercise during the winter when you can and get some of that indoor air out of your system.
As we continue with the Coronavirus Pandemic it is very important to try and make sure we are being as healthy as we can so nothing better than a good walk and Wells Mills County Park in Waretown, is a perfect place to go with the family.

There are several trails to choose from at Wells Mills. The Macri trail is the longest at 8.5 miles. The Multi-use trail (Horses,Bikes, Hiking) at 6.2 miles. The Estlow trail at 3.5 miles. The Wildfire Ecology trail at 2.6 miles. The Cold Brook trail at .5 miles. There are also a few smaller trails your can check out as well.
Wells Mills Lake is at the center of the park. There is also a nature observatory and playground area. The trails are very well marked and maintained so it’s a good hike. Most of the trails are sugar sand and have a decent width. Very little elevation.
