Adele hasn’t spoken very highly of the guy who inspired her heartbreak-themed ’21′ album, but she thinks he would be pleased that the resulting album produced six Grammy victories.

“I think he’d be very happy for me. Yeah, I do,” she said when asked how he would feel about her night. ‘Rolling in the Deep’ won for Best Short Form Music Video, Record of the Year and Song of the Year, while ‘Someone Like You’ captured Best Pop Solo Performance. She also took home the coveted Album of the Year award for ’21′ as well as the Best Pop Vocal Album gramophone.

Adele briefly took questions backstage after her wins and commented on tying Beyonce‘s record for most Grammy wins in one night by a female artist. “Well, Beyonce is my favorite, so that’s amazing,” Adele said. “I’m very, very proud of myself. It hasn’t really sunk in. We all just keep laughing. But it’s incredible.”

She also spoke about the past few months, when she wasn’t able to talk as she recovered from vocal cord surgery. “It’s actually been really, really peaceful. Being silent in such a noisy world, it was actually a bit of a blessing in disguise. And thank God my voice healed. I stuck to all the rules that they gave me. I’ve actually never been happier. I found great happiness when I was ill!”
