I recently came across the cutest little gourmet cafe on a tiny street in a beautiful neighborhood.

If you haven't been to The French Market on East River Road, you might want to give it a try the next time you and your girlfriend are meeting for coffee or lunch. It is a beautiful place full of French atmosphere.

The coffee is awesome, the pastries are to die for, the sandwiches are fantastic...everything from the bread to the atmosphere is just outstanding.

And the staff is kind, friendly, and goes above and beyond to serve their customers. I especially got a kick out of the tweens stopping in on their way home from school for cookies and tea!

So if you like the ambiance (inside and out!) of a tiny little café with French music, gift items for sale, or even if you want to pick up a delectable meal to bring home for dinner, this place is fabulous.

I know they have been there for years, but it's a new discovery for me!

PS.... I planned this blog before I went to The French Market for the second time. After that second visit, some wonderful employees found my pocketbook in the parking lot long after I left. It must have fallen off of my arm. Without knowing who I was or how to track me down, the staff went far above and beyond to figure out a way to reach me and get my purse back to me!  It would have been horrific to realize it was gone when I got home later that day and to have lost so many important items. So a HUGE thank you to the staff at The French Market who were working this past Friday afternoon.
