Airbnb Suspends Rentals in Jersey Shore Towns
Due to a house party that attracted hundreds of people in Jackson on Thursday and numerous complaints to the Airbnb hotline, the company is removing rental listings in very desirable Jersey Shore locations.
Governor Murphy has said repeatedly that house parties are dangerous and spread the risk of COVID-19.
In a statement, Chris Lehane, Airbnb Senior Vice President of Global Policy and Communications said:
We stand with Governor Murphy, and we support his call to action to stop parties and promote behavior that respects the public’s health. We ban party houses and will not tolerate irresponsible behavior on our platform.
Area towns that are suspending various rentals include:
- Asbury Park
- Jackson Township
- Toms River
Other New Jersey towns that are affected are:

- Long Hill
- New Milford
- Sparta Township
- Bridgewater Township
- East Brunswick
