Alanis Morissette Album Being Made Into Broadway Musical

The ultimate in angry girl rock is headed to The Great White Way!

Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill album is being turned into a Broadway musical, expected to debut in 2014.

Jagged Little Pill was named 'Album of the Year' at the 1996 Grammy Awards and to this day is one of my favorite albums of all time. It's the perfect mixture of angst, vulnerability, and generally giving the world the finger.

It spawned hits like 'Head Over Feet,' 'You Learn,' and 'Ironic,' and of course the ultimate in badass rock, 'You Oughta Know.'

The musical will include all of the tracks from the album, in addition to other songs from Morissette's career, and even a few original tracks written for the show.

Morissette released a statement about the project, saying, 'I look forward to taking the heart of Jagged Little Pill and expanding its story, fleshing it out into ever deeper layers of emotionality, specificity, humanity, power, physicality, spirit and fabulism.'
