"I MIGHT HAVE HAD A TOUGH BREAK, BUT I HAVE AN AWFUL LOT TO LIVE FOR." - Lou Gehrig

The 15th annual Valentine Plunge will be virtual this year but that won't stop Jersey Shore plungers from raising thousands of dollars. In the past 14 years, the Valentine Plunge has raised $3.4 million to support the quality of life of those suffering from ALS.  Just last year, plungers raised over $330,000! Right now, even during a tough pandemic, $30,000 has been raised and plungers still have a whole month to raise money. All money raised will be donated directly to the Joan Dancy and PALS Foundation.

From the Joan Dancy & PALS Website:

The Joan Dancy and PALS Foundation was formed in 2005 by Terry Magovern in honor of Joan Dancy, his late fiancé after she succumbed to ALS. Our mission is to help people in our local communities afflicted with ALS by providing a better quality of life for them and their families. ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive debilitating disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, resulting in muscle weakness and atrophy. There is no cure.

It's going to be freezing but that's the point! For the 15th annual Valentine Plunge, plungers will dive into the icy Atlantic Ocean during the whole month of February. This year, because of the pandemic, each plunger and/ or team will be able to choose their location, date, and time to satisfy their plunge commitment. You still can register to plunge or if you want to donate to a team/ individual CLICK THIS LINK.

The annual Jersey Shore event is very special and I wish all plungers great success! Even during a pandemic, your efforts to raise money for ALS patients is something that is not going unnoticed.
