Jersey Shore Native Advances To Hollywood On American Idol

Shout out to Sydney Sherwood for representing the Jersey Shore.

This Marlboro resident auditioned for ABC's American Idol and this little super star is now going to Hollywood to continue on for the win!

Sherwood announced on her Instagram yesterday that she received a "golden ticket" during auditions but unfortunately her segment won't be aired. An official rep for the American Idol reboot, however, did confirm her story!

To start off, I wanted to say thank you to all of you that have been watching and excited to see if my audition was on TV. Unfortunately though, my audition won’t be aired. Butttt I did have the amazing opportunity to sing in front of @katyperry @lukebryan and @lionelrichie and receive a golden ticket to Hollywood!! So happy to finally to announce this to you guys! Thank you for all your prayers, wishing me good luck, and just all your love that you’ve been sending since when I first tried out for the show. I love you all I can’t promise that you’ll see me in Hollywood, but you might wanna keep watching just in case Thank you guys again for all the support... it means the world

But I hope she is ready because Hollywood week officially begins at 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 24th. Yikes!

“Thank you for all your prayers, wishing me good luck, and just all your love that you’ve been sending since when I first tried out for the show,” posted Sherwood.

Turns out that Sherwood is no stranger to the music industry and just recently released a record at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park from her new EP "Beauty from Ashes."
