Atlantic City OKs Water Park Plans
A new attraction in Atlantic City would be fun for the entire family!
Press of Atlantic City reports that the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority paved the way via zoning approvals for a "family-focused entertainment complex with an 81,000 square-foot waterpark and about 800 hotel rooms" to be built on the site of the former AC Hilton/Atlantic Club casino.
The project would cost upwards of $165 million dollars, and could be finished by next winter (2016/2017).
Considering one of the biggest complaints about AC is that there isn't enough to do outside of the casinos, this seems like a great idea.
The city still has a ways to go, and reducing crime would be a great first step, but attractions like this are a good way to not only keep visitors entertained, but create jobs as well. Even better, the renderings from SOSH Architects show it as at least a partially-enclosed water park, so that people can use it all year!
