Barnegat Police are looking into multiple reports of bus stops, fencing and signs being spray painted with derogatory phrases across a section of town.

The department issued a statement announcing that they are looking into several incidents of criminal mischief that have popped up along Route 9 as well as on Rose Hill Road and Bengal Boulevard.

Police say several bus stops on Route 9 as well as some fencing and signs along Rose Hill Road and Bengal Boulevard have been spray painted with a number of different derogatory sayings.

It appears the incidents occurred sometime in the overnight hours of Wednesday or Thursday.
