When you think of big New Jersey snowstorms, you might think of the dead of winter, but half of the top ten record-breaking New Jersey snow totals happened when winter was only days old.
The Biggest One-Day Snowfalls Ever Recorded In New Jersey
According to Stacker, there were only two snowstorms in the history of the Garden State when 30" or more fell in one day.
Both of those were in late January. One was in Somerset County on January 23, 2016, and the other in Sussex County on January 26, 1905.
On both of those days, 30" of accumulated snow was recorded. Of the remaining 8 snow days on the top 10 list, 5 occurred in December.

#8 All-Time December 27, 2010. On this day, just 14 years ago, Middlesex County was pounded with 28 inches of snow.
#7 All-Time December 26, 1947. It was Monmouth County's turn this time around. On this day, 28.4 inches fell.
The Top New Jersey December Snow Days Ever
#6 All-Time December 27, 1947. One day after Monmouth County got hit with the storm, Passaic County registered 29 inches.
#5 All-Time December 26, 1947. The big storm of 1947 which dropped 28.4 inches on Monmouth County, dumped a little more on Bergen County. They got 29.1 inches.
#3 All-Time December 27, 2010. The highest one-day December snow total happened in Union County when 29.8 inches fell.
