Brick Township Police Detectives with the Street Crimes Unit were in the right place at the right time twice to witness something wrong unfold which led to four arrests.

Detectives said they saw two people meet in a parking area in the complex around 6:00 pm on Thursday with one tossing a drawstring bag into the back seat of a white Chrysler 300 which then bolted from the area.

The Chrysler was pulled over in the area of Burnt Tavern Road and Lanes Mill Road.

The driver, Louis Vargas, 43, of Manchester and the passenger Eli Brown-Casalan 42, of Lakewood were both arrested after Detectives discovered Cocaine, Marijuana and Paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Brown-Casalan also had an active warrant for his arrest for $1,336.00 out of Brick Township.

Vargas was issued a Summons for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, and motor vehicle violations.

Brown-Casalan was issued a Summons for Possession of Cocaine packaged for resale, Possession of MDMA (Ecstasy), Possession of Marijuana packaged for resale and Possession with Intent to Distribute the narcotics.

Following the arrests and back in the field, SCU Detectives observed suspicious activity along Burnt Tavern Road and Van Zile Road where two vehicles sped from the area in separate directions.

Patrol Officers and SCU Detectives stopped both vehicles.

Adrian J. Woodward, 33, of Manchester was stopped near the Brick Reservoir after Officers observed multiple motor vehicle violations.

Detectives then found 34 grams of cocaine, 82 grams of marijuana and packaging materials for the resale of the drugs in the vehicle.

Woodward was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession with Intent to Distribute the Marijuana and Cocaine and multiple motor vehicle violations.

Woodward’s charges were placed on a warrant and he was brought to the Ocean County Jail.

The other vehicle was stopped on Van Zile Rd.

The driver, Madison Struyf, 20, of Brick was arrested after Officers discovered drugs in her vehicle as well.

Struyf was issued a Summons for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Gabapentin, Possession of Fraudulent Government Documents and multiple motor vehicle violations.
