Brick Police make six drug related arrests outside Pleasure Zone

Brick Police have made six arrests since March in response to suspicious activity in the parking lot behind the Pleasure Zone on Chambers Bridge Road.

As a result of their investigation police have charged two Jackson residents with marijuana possession, a Brick man with marijuana possession, a Linden man for possession of meth and paraphernalia, a Maryland man for possession of meth and paraphernalia and another man for possessing heroin and paraphernalia.

The first in the series of arrests occurred on March 5 around 5:00 pm when Drug Enforcement Unit Detectives observed suspicious activity which led to the arrest and charging of an individual for possession of heroin and paraphernalia.

Police said that information on that individual is not being released at this time.

That same day, only a half hour later, another arrest was made by those same DEU Detectives.

Brian Strassburg, 27, of Brick Township, was then charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

The next day, March 6, at 10:00 pm, DEU Detectives observed suspicious activity behind the Pleasure Zone, and investigation led to the arrest of Christian Luna, 19, and Jose Luna-Serrano, 27, both of Jackson.

Both Luna-Serrano and Luna were charged with marijuana possession and paraphernalia.

Christian Luna also received a motor vehicle summons, and Jose Luna-Serrano was processed on an outstanding warrant out of Howell Township.

A month later, on April 11 at 3:00 pm, DEU Detectives made another arrest behind the Pleasure Zone, which led to charges of possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia against Edward Restaino, 52, of Linden.

On May 15 around midnight, DEU Detectives arrested Muhammad Umer, whose last known address is in Maryland, for possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

Umer’s vehicle was also impounded for inactive insurance, for which Umer was issued a summons.

Brick Police say that the rear lot of the Pleasure Zone has been a hotbed of suspicious activity, including for drug use.

The arrests made and other investigative practices are part of an effort to curb the illicit activity.

Police have also been in communication with the management of the Pleasure Zone about efforts on their part to dissuade people from utilizing their rear lot for such activities.

Some of those efforts have included increased lighting in the area, installing surveillance cameras, and signage warning would-be criminals that the area is under surveillance.
