Over the weekend, I was talking to a listener at an event who was telling me all about how easy it is to get a bus from Ocean County to New York City.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't really enjoy going to the Big Apple, however, my fiancee absolutely loves it.

She's mainly a fan of going to Broadway and seeing a show.

Fortunately, it looks like Broadway is going to be making its way to Ocean County.

The series is called Broadway meets the Beach, and it sounds like a blast.

The performances kick off the last Friday in July and will run through August.

What is "Broadway meets the Beach"?

Broadway Meets the Beach is kind of exactly what it sounds like: some of the biggest songs from Broadway being performed right here at the Jersey Shore.

According to Shorebeat.com

This year’s lineup will feature shows including Rock of Ages, Aladdin, The Producers, Harry Potter, Fiddler on the Roof, The Lion King, Rent, Kinky Boots, Mamma Mia, Les Miserables and many more.

The performances kick off at 6:30 on the Franklin Avenue Stage in Seaside Heights, and they are free to the public.
