Summer is here, and whether you're spending the day on the beach, or just want to dine while watching the water, make this week's restaurant your next stop!

Cubacan sits on the boardwalk at 800 Ocean Ave. in Asbury Park, serving up modern Cuban food in a very Latin-inspired setting.

Chef Bradley Rodriguez sums it up saying they are one of the few places in the area doing Latin fusion, and it's all with fresh, seasonal ingredients and a fun vibe.

It's definitely a vibrant atmosphere that will have you feeling like you're in South Beach, especially when they bring in the live music on weekends. It's a little loud, but a lot of fun.

For lunch on the boards, try the traditional Cuban sandwich (emparedado) or one of their four ceviche options for a refreshingly light option.

For dinner, I'd absolutely recommend the Pernil Asado or Ropa Vieja, of course with a pitcher of red or white sangria!

Cubacan's two sister restaurants, Sirena in Long Branch and Stella Marina in Asbury are also popular among the foodie set, so obviously the owners know what they are doing.

Cubacan is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. For reservations, call (732) 774-3007.
