The Fifth Annual Asbury Park Promenade of Mermaids will be a day like no other. You and your kids can watch...or take part!

Saturday, June 29th, is the date for the annual Mermaid Promenade on the boardwalk and in Bradley Park (at Fifth and Ocean near the Paramount Theatre) in Asbury Park.

It's a fun day full of fun sea creature-themed events surrounding the parade. Here's the schedule:

10 am - 4 pm: Visit over 30 vendors who will be selling mermaid-themed art, jewelery, home décor, and more.

Noon - 2 pm: Parade registration. The costume contest registration fee is $10. Otherwise there is no charge to walk in the parade.

2 pm: The Promenade! Led by the Gypsy Funk Squad, the parade begins in Bradley Park (next to Convention Hall) and proceeds down the Boardwalk, then returns to the park for judging.

3 pm: A Belly Dance performance  by the lovely ladies of Sharqidance

3:30 pm: The Costume Contest: For those who registered to enter the parade as a contestant for the costume contest.  (But fun to watch to see who won!) The Promenade King & Queen will be chosen by the Grand Marshal (Asbury Park Deputy Mayor Amy Quinn plus an esteemed panel of judges.) There will be winners in several categories including adult & children's categories.

4 pm: An All-Ages After-Party at the AP Yacht Club restaurant/bar on the boardwalk with the Gypsy Funk Squad.
