I recently broke the news to you that Lidl, a grocery store chain with various locations across the Jersey Shore, has announced that they will be offering their employees a cash incentive to receive the COVID-19 Vaccine.

The thought process behind it is to ensure that their employees don't choose to miss their chance at an open appointment slot because they will lose pay for missing work.

In addition, it is supposed to help cover the cost of travel or child care while receiving the Vaccine.

I am not gonna lie....at first, I thought this idea was a little sketch. A lot of people that I have spoken to are super freaked out about getting the COVID-19 Vaccine because it is so new.

So I thought: "Is this a way to gently force New Jersey residents into getting the vaccine?"

But then when I continued to research and I discovered the information listed above about what the pay is intended to be for....and now I am wondering if this is something that should be implemented across the garden state.

And I will tell you why. A lot of people have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and have been forced to take on an hourly job just so they have some sort of income.

However, a lot of these jobs require their employees to actually go to work in order to get paid. Now is not the time to nickel and dime residents...we are hurting enough.

So I am thinking that companies who don't offer PTO or some sort of coverage without an employees' pay being affected should bring this same system on.
