According to the Asbury Park Press, the crocodile was spotted on East Longport Avenue just after 12 o’clock Tuesday morning. Berkeley township animal control officials removed the animal and reportedly placed it in a more appropriate surrounding.

Police describe the crocodile as a juvenile but still dangerous especially in residential community.  They say the animal is also classified as exotic and requires a permit or license.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ocean Gate Police Detective Mike Kuchta at 732-269-6931 ext. 27.
