Delays Remain After Earlier Fatal Parkway Accident

Delays continue on the Garden State Parkway following a fatal crash this morning.

The accident, on the northbound side just south of exit 91 in Brick, occured just after 8:30 this morning. A blue Hyundai registered to a woman in Toms River flipped and landed in the woods, though no details have been released on the cause of the crash or the victim's identity.

An accident investigation continues, blocking the right lane, causing delays back past exit 88 (Rt 70).

There are no southbound delays in the area.

Use caution in the area, expect delays, and plan an alternate route (Rt 9 or Rt 35) if you need to head north.

On a personal note, I passed the scene on my way into work this morning, and saw plenty of emergency vehicles blocking at least one lane. It's never an easy thing to see. Our thoughts are with the victim's family and loved ones.
