ROUTE 37 REOPENS 

Following an accident involving tractor trailer on Route 37 between Toms River and Manchester, Route 37 has re-opened. The accident which involved a tanker carrying nearly 9,000 gallons of gasoline left Route 37 closed for hour’s Wednesday. According to Patch, the tanker crashed while trying to avoid a car that had hit a deer on Route 37. Luckily no serious accidents were reported. The driver of the tanker was taken to Community Medical Center for observation.

Wednesday morning, according to Total Traffic, we had a full closure of Route 37 in both directions.

Our very own Nancy Reamy is reported Route 37 closed in both directions in the Toms River / Manchester area between Commonwealth Blvd and North Hampton Blvd.

The closure on Route 37 is due to a tractor-trailer fire, crews were on the scene dealing with the accident.

According to reports we had delays eastbound from Colonial Drive and westbound from Bananier Drive. Officials are urging motorists to avoid this area of Route 37 between Toms River and Manchester.
