Yesterday afternoon, a meteor streaked across the skies over the Jersey Shore. Over 150 people sent a report in to the American Meteor Society, reporting sightings from Delaware all the way up to the southern tip of Maine.

This driver happened to have their car pointed in the right direction for the dashcam to catch this awesome footage!

The American Meteor Society says "several thousand" fireballs occur each day, but they are rarely seen because they soar over oceans or uninhabited areas, or are blocked out by daylight.

I've never been lucky enough to see a random meteor during the day - did you spot this one yesterday?
