So over the weekend, my friend Nicole and I gave a DIY project a shot so I thought I would tell you about it because it was actually pretty easy.

And yes....we sipped Loverboys while we worked.

So I live in an apartment that is like a block from the beach so my goal was to have my outdoor patio revamped in time for Summer since we have time to make up for.

My parents gave me some of their old patio furniture that was covered in algae, rust and who knows what else.

I ordered CLR Mold & Mildew Clear, Bleach-Free Stain Remover Spray for just $8.00 off of Amazon and it worked like a charm.

I sprayed it all over the furniture and even areas of that balcony that needed some TLC. You let it sit for ten minutes and the stains that this stuff pulled up could have been from the 1800s...I swear.

The next step was to head to Home Depot for some affordable indoor/outdoor carpet.

Hint courtesy of Papa Murray: There will almost always be an area in the back of the store with rolls of carpet that are much more affordable than materials that have to be special ordered.

That is where we find my beautiful dark blue carpet. It was only $2.59 per foot so I spent a total of $33.00 for the carpet. Not bad right!

You can also incorporate double sided tape to keep the carpet secure but we opted not to spring for that just yet since the patio isn't done.

And finally, I was able to get seat cushions that also covered the back of the chair for just $15.00 each!

The total cost was just over $80.00 for these materials! Again.... not bad.

We also emptied out a large flower pot on the porch and I am now using it for beach umbrellas and chairs!

Shout out to my friend Nicole who did a majority of the lifting because I am having back troubles.
