If you consider a Jersey Shore summer to be June, July, August, and September, then it’s time for New Jersey to get its mid-term report card.
Heat and humidity have dominated the first half of our summer at the Jersey Shore. That in itself is not surprising.
How Has Our New Jersey Summer Been So Far?
But I think it’s safe to say that the heat and humidity have been especially ferocious in the first half of our summer.

We dealt with a heat and humidity wave in July that would rival any mid-August dog days of a summer heatwave, but as usual, New Jersey residents have handled it with all the grace and patience we are world-known for.

The good news about our weather so far this summer is that we haven’t had any true washout weekends and that is good for residents, tourists, and businesses alike.
Good Summer For New Jersey Local Businesses
If the parking and lines at local restaurants are any indication, New Jersey is enjoying a banner summer so far, and that’s good for everyone except those at the back of the lines or those who had to give in and pay $50 or more just to park.
Let’s add it all up and give the first half of our summer a grade. I’d say local businesses are happy, tourists are pouring in and the weather has been hot but not terrible.
Let’s go with a B+ this time around and hope the dog days of August aren’t as hot as the dog days of July.
