I have many Veterans in my family, including my Dad and my Brother. My Dad served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and my Brother was a career member of the United States Army and was involved in Operation Desert Storm with multiple tours of the Middle East. There are also other members of the family in the Navy, Army, and Air Force. My Brother-In-Law was a career member of the Army and served in Viet Nam.

I remember my Dad going to VA offices right up until the time of his death. He would travel out to Burlington County and even sometimes Trenton to visit the VA facilities and doctors. It was a long day for him, but hopefully now with services being built here in Toms River, Vets from Ocean County will have a closer location to use.

Our Veterans deserve this facility and it's a great addition to the Ocean County community. It was my pleasure to be on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony and to share photos from this great moment as we further help our Veterans in Ocean County and around New Jersey. Thanks to all the Veterans and guests who were part of this ceremony in Toms River .

The future site is set to open in the Spring of 2024 and is located at 1051 Hooper Avenue in Toms River. According to an AP.com article, "It is located adjacent to a new 121,000-square-foot, three-story building that will house Ocean County's Board of Social Services, as well as the county's Veterans Service Bureau. County officials broke ground for the new social services building last summer."

This new VA clinic will be a welcomed addition to Veteran's services locally here in Ocean County.
